On January 10th, 2020 at 3 p.m. HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita granted medical equipment in the name of “GOOD HEALTH GOOD HEART” to Rayong Central Prison, Chonburi Central Prison and the Chonburi Women Correctional Institution. His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen founded the “GOOD HEALTH GOOD HEART” and donated medical tools and medical supplies on December 28th, 2019, implying the beginning of the project enabling all sectors to be integrated in helping the inmates. The compassion and concern of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen continues further on, which is why they granted supplies in order to provide medical services to another 24 additional correctional institutions.
In Rayong Central Prison there are currently a total of 7,246 inmates (data as of January 7th, 2020) with 759 inmates being sick. In Chonburi Central Prison there are a total of 7,666 inmates in total with 171 being sick, while the Chonburi Women Correctional Institution holds 1,599 prisoners with 183 being currently sick.
The sick inmates have been examined and categorized in order to take care of them efficiently. The categories are such as tuberculosis or asthma or psychiatry. The public health departments of Rayong and Chonburi that took part in taking care of sick inmates where for example the Ban Khai Hospital and other volunteers. The “GOOD HEALTH GOOD HEART” participated in medical help, nursing and other related fields.
In this regard HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita bestowed medical devices to the commander of the Rayong Central Prison as well as the Commander of the Chonburi Central Prison and Chonburi Women Correctional Institution. Furthermore, HRH bestowed a mobile x-ray vehicle to the director of Chonburi Hospital to start the "Corrections Health Corner Pansuk" and look inside the "Corrections Health Corner Pansuk".
After that HRH visited the dental department and observed a dental demonstration performed by a doctor from Ban Khai Hospital who volunteered to help the sick inmates.
Additionally, HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita went to see bed-bound sick inmates, where 8 of them were able to be released from bed rest.
HRH also visited and encouraged the sick inmates in the Chonburi Women Correctional Institution and observed a demonstration of volunteers taking care of the inmates as well as in various other fields in assisting inmates facing health problems, as the projects cover an integration of various departments in order for the inmates to receive the rights and benefits to have access to medical treatment and keeping the inmates in good health, as they have equal right in accessing them as the services for the general public.
