HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita visited the Narathiwat Province Prison and visited the Ban Pula Rai Akalatapat community Tuesday, February 4th,2020 at 1 p.m. HRH then went to the Fueng Fah Cemetery within the Thaksin Rajaniwet Palace North in order to make merit and offer food for the monks along with Mrs. Pattana Chutiwatthanawong, the deputy director of the Thaksin Rajaniwet Palace, Mr. Suhime Mameake, the imam of the Ban Khao Tanjong Mosque and her delegation.
HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita then departed from the guesthouse at the Thaksin Rajaniwet Palace in her royal car to Narathiwat Prison, where she observed the demonstration of teaching and learning about public health in male prison. On this occasion she also donated royal hospital bags to 5 sick male inmates.
Furthermore, she visited the "Corrective Health Corner Pansook" where a public health doctor from Narathiwat Province donated books that are useful for the Corrections Health Division Pansook.
HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita then examined the exhibition of Narathiwat Prison and Narathiwat Rajanagarindra Hospital.
Afterwards, she observed the demonstration of female prison health volunteers on caring for sick female inmates and donated royal hospital bags to 4 sick female inmates. HRH also paid a visit to the mother and child room in Narathiwat Prison.
HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita then used her royal car to the community of the „Halfway House“. Where HRH was accompanied by Lieutenant Thanakrit Jitarirat, Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, who informed HRH about the background of the „Halfway House“; he also presented HRH with souvenirs from the „Halfway House“. HRH also uncovered the sign of „Halfway House“ and was invited to observe the correction, rehabilitation and professional training as well as an exhibition of volunteering spirit created by the “GOOD HEALTH GOOD HEART” project.
HRH then was asked to look inside the building of the „Halfway House“ along with the responsible members of the community as well as the board members and caretakers, where she listened to a presentation about the background of „Halfway House“
After, HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita paid attention to the educational training in the village (about agriculture, mushroom cultivation and shipbuilding).
The „Halfway House“ is a place to provide assistance and follow up with offenders, as well as teach and train professional skills to those within the probation system in order for them to adjust their lives before returning to society. This happens under the supervision of the community and aids former inmates to an easier transition into society in order to reduce a repetition of their former actions.
