On November 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, Air Chief Marshal Somkid Sukbang, the Director of Protocol for Her Royal Highness Princess Pacharakitiyabha, chaired the third meeting of the committee organizing the 19th anniversary of the “Kamalai” project under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness. The meeting was attended by Ms. Jirapa Sinthunawa, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; Mr. Samruai Boonsang, Assistant Permanent Secretary; Mr. Rattana Worabanit, Inspector General of the Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection; Mr. Phaitoon Mongkolhatthi, Inspector General of the Department of Corrections; Mr. Nitath Saengwattana, Deputy Director of the Office of Justice Affairs; Mr. Mongkol Songkram, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Employment; and representatives from various agencies such as the Probation Department, Forest Department, National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, as well as directors from various divisions within the Ministry of Justice, and other relevant officials. The meeting took place at Meeting Room 10-01, Ministry of Justice Building.
The purpose of the meeting was to report on the activities conducted on October 31, 2025, when His Majesty the King graciously allowed the Ministry of Justice, through the Office of Justice Innovation Development, to hold a religious ceremony to offer blessings to Her Royal Highness Princess Pacharakitiyabha on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the “Kamalai” project. Activities included “Two Decades of Kamalai: Stepping into New Opportunities with Innovation” under the theme “Providing Support, Offering Opportunities, and Building Futures.” This event comprised a religious ceremony held at the Sonchat Meeting Room on the 3rd floor, managed by the Royal Ceremony Division of the Bureau of the Royal Household; a presentation of activities to celebrate “Two Decades of Kamalai” held in the Auditorium on the 10th floor; performances by female inmates from the Central Women’s Correctional Institution; presentation of a video; expressions of gratitude by Ms. Phong Swat Neelayothin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; and a speech by Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruthaphol Naowarat, the Minister of Justice. The event was officially opened by Air Chief Marshal Somkid Sukbang, followed by the launch of a Wisdom Therapy course, a Kick-off ceremony titled “Empowering Collaboration between Government, Private Sector, and Media to Provide Opportunities for Ex-offenders,” an award ceremony for a cooking contest featuring inmate culinary skills, an Excellence in Prison Award ceremony for 2023-2024, an exhibition showcasing innovative models and related agencies such as Chef Cares (Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection) and Bellinee's Bake & Brew of the Department of Employment, totaling 24 booths, as well as fundraising for the Kamalai Fund. The event garnered media coverage through various platforms, including support from Top News, which provided a news anchor as a host, producing a 30-second spot video and live streaming on Facebook for public and inmate viewership.
Additionally, an evaluation of the event was conducted to identify issues and propose solutions to guide the ongoing activities of the “Kamalai” project. Results indicated that 284 people participated in the event, with 27,372 viewers of the live stream. The meeting also summarized the agencies that supported personnel, equipment, and venue arrangements. Feedback was gathered from two sources: a QR code assessment form and observation or inquiries from participants, divided into evaluations of the exhibition and activities associated with the anniversary. The majority of feedback showed satisfaction. The committee suggested that the event should be held annually, as the vocational training booths for ex-offenders attracted interest from Ministry personnel, and a more spacious venue would be better suited for the exhibition to provide sufficient parking. The chair also remarked that activities should be condensed in duration to maintain participant interest, suggesting that the cooking contest and award presentation be organized separately on another day. Finally, the chair expressed gratitude to all agencies for their cooperation and full support in organizing the Kamalai project.
