The "Encouragement" Project, in collaboration with the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), organized a digital skills development training for inmates at Doi Hjang Temporary Prison, Chiang Rai Province.
On July 17-18, 2025, the project was led by the Justice Innovation Development Division of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, together with ETDA representatives, including Mr. Parinya Suwannachinkul, Senior Administrative Officer, and Mr. Akkasakol Lertweerasilikul, the instructor. A total of 30 male inmates participated in the training. Ms. Nawarat Janjirerasami, Director of the Inmate Development Division at Chiang Rai Central Prison, presided over the opening ceremony.
During the program, the instructors provided knowledge on starting online product sales, planning and preparation before selling online, techniques for online sales, and social commerce sales through platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or Line OA. The training also covered creating engaging advertising content, logistics and payment channels, and registering a business electronically (DBD Registered), along with legal guidelines for online selling.
The course, titled "Conquer Online Business," included the following content:
- Checklist 1: Find products that match your interests
- Checklist 2: Understand your customers and your business
- Checklist 3: Understand the customer decision-making process
- Checklist 4: To sell well, create compelling content
- Checklist 5: Start a simple business with Facebook
- Checklist 6: Expand sales channels with Instagram
- Checklist 7: Increase brand awareness via TikTok
- Checklist 8: Boost sales and repeat purchases with Line OA
- Checklist 9: How to close sales effectively
- Checklist 10: Manage your online store like a pro
- Checklist 11: Legal considerations for online selling
The training also included modules on building a brand, using AI in digital marketing, and techniques for presenting products online through Live Commerce.
Participants were divided into five groups:
1. Selling crocheted stuffed animals
2. Selling worm compost fertilizer
3. Selling "Dragon Blood" tea
4. Selling cloth bags
5. Selling fresh vegetables
After the training, participants completed two quizzes:
- The first was a 20-question test from ETDA, with all inmates passing and the highest score being 19.
- The second was a 55-question test from the Department of Skill Development, with answers to be reviewed and results announced within 10 days.
Participants who scored at least 70% on the second test will receive a certificate from the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour.
